Rule for runner for asa slowpitch

Question
My question is this: if a runner is at 3rd base & no outs, & a right handed batter is up, & the runner on 3rd stands in foul territory with one foot completely on the bag, & the runner is hit by a batted ball while still attached to 3rd, (the runner at 3rd is on the bag when she is hit by the batted ball), what is the ruleing?

Answer
Hi Gary,

If R1 was hit in foul territory it is just a foul ball.

If the runner was hit in fair territory and the closest defensive player is in front of the base it is just a live ball, we play on.

If the defensive player was behind the base it is a dead ball, b-r is awarded 1st and other runners advance only if forced.
