18U Softball Lineup

Question
At a recent tournament the lineup for the opposing team had 11 players with 2 EH's, the second EH batting 11th. After their 10th player batted they went to the top of the lineup. By the time my coach brought this to my attention and I called for time the count was 2-1. After showing the ump the mistake he ordered the 11th player to get up and assume the count of the current batter. I claimed the girl should be out for batting out of order as soon as the first pitch was delivered. He said (and both umps present agreed) that if I had waited for the girl to finish the at bat and if she were to reach base that's when I should have brought it up and the girl would have been out. Is this ruling correct and if it is and the girl batting out of order doesn't reach base can I wait and bring it up the next time she's up if she does reach base then? What is the number in the ASA rules so I know. Thanks
Answer
Hi Robert
on any BOO you always want to wait until the batter completes their turn at bat until you appeal, otherwise we just put the correct batter up w/ the count. Then the penalties apply and the batter doesn't have to reach base in ASA to have penalties. The batter who should have batted is out, all outs made during the BOO stand and all runners return.
Only if she is again BOO.
