Question
My cousin really wants to play for Georgia.  She can throw around 46-48 mph at the age of 12. Is this good enough for her age, and will she be able to play if she's able to throw around the middle 60's in high school? I will do anything to help increase her speed. Thank you for all of your time and effort to answer this question!

Sincerely,
Branson

Answer
Branson,

A place on a D1 team is a great goal for a 12 year old.

If she can hit her spots, throw several different pitches with control, change speeds and throw in the mid sixties, she will be able to play anywhere she wants.  A lot can change between 12 and 18 years old.

Find a coach that knows what they are doing and make sure it stays fun for her.

Hope this helps.
