How Many Innings can a Softball pitcher throw per week?

Question
This year our middle school softball league has implemented a 10 inning per week rule for pitchers referencing your organization. Could you please direct me to the paragraph/rule. We have a couple of pitchers in our league that practice year round and now that the season has started they are being held back. My daughter is one of these pitchers. Her pitching coaches who both disagree and as a matter of fact insist a pitcher warm up with up to 200 pitches prior to a game. For boys/men to throw over hand has well documented strain on arms and shoulders...contrary for girls/women it is not so...are school sports now becoming politically correct or is there a reason for this rule??? Thanks for your timely response.
Answer
ASA and NFHS (High/Middle School) have no limits on pitch count or innings.
This is a local rule for you folks.
You can overuse a fastpitch pitcher especially at the younger ages. Ten innnings per week seems like an over reaction to some coach that has no idea how to treat kids!
I wouldn't have any problem with my daughter throwing three games over a Friday and Saturday.
