Question
what is the standards for bats in NFHS, weight & length?

Answer
NFHS goes by ASA on bat rules.  If it is a legal ASA bat, it is legal for high school.

If the bat has the either the ASA2004 or ASA2000 stamp and is not on the illegal bat list, it is legal.

The maximum length is 34"  the maximum weight is 37 ounces.

ASA does not differentiate between "Fastpitch" and "Slowpitch" bats on their bat list.  A manufacturer may market their bat as fastpitch or slowpitch but as far as the rules go it doesn't matter for NFHS.  My daughter uses a 34/27.  This bat would be marketed most likely for slow pitch but she hits the ball pretty hard with it!
