catchers

I have a 9 year old girl that is left handed. she is determined on being a catcher. can she continue on being a catcher if she is left handed?and if u can give me any websites to go on cause coaches are telling her no.

I don't know of any websites that talk about this.  We purchased a left-handed catchers mitt for our high school this year.  A freshman who has a good chance of becoming the varsity catcher down the road is a lefty.

It has never created a problem for her.  What is the explanation given for not wanting a lefty catcher?
