ball cought off batters bat by catcher

Question
I hit the ball and it didn't even go over my waist behind me. The catcher caught the ball at his feet, is that still an out.
 mens slow pitch

Answer
Hi Steve,

This was not a "foul tip" which must go sharply and directly from the bat to the catcher's hand or glove and is only an out on the 3rd strike.

Rather it was a " batted foul ball" which if legally caught is an out.  Forget the old myth that a ball has to go over your head to be caught for an out, in softball that was never a rule.
