third base coach between the box and the base

Question
Is it within the  rules for the coach to stand between the base and the coaches box during a play at third base?

Answer
Hi Richard,

Thank you for your question.  YES, there are two occasions when it is within the rules for the 3B coach to stand between 3B and the coach's box during a play at 3B.  Let's take a look at the applicable rule, verbatim, ASA's 4-7-C-2.  By the way, the numbers in parentheses are my addition: "A base coach may leave the coach's box to (1) signal the runner to slide, advance or return to a base or (2) move out of a fielder's way as long as the coach does not intentionally interfere with the play."

So there you have it!
