Question
COurtesy runners for pitchers and catchers..... Can a player listed as a sub on the card be a courtesy runner more than once in a game....and if so can she run for both the pitcher and the catcher?

thanks

Answer
Hi Mike,

In ASA play you can only use a player who has not yet participated in the game, so if the sub has not been used in any playing capacity they are allowed to be a CR.  You must report a CR to the PU.

That particular CR you designate may run only for the pitcher OR catcher positions, so no, that particular player cannot be used for both.  You need separate CRs if you want to run for both positions.

That particular CR may be used any number of times in the game to run for either the pitcher or catcher whatever position they initially ran for.  For IE, if your pitcher reaches base in the 1st, 3rd and 6th inning you could use the same CR 3 times.
