Question
This happened in a Hs game. Another player bats for the pitcher and the starting pitcher re-enters and pitches two more innings. Then the same player bats again for the pitcher and then pitches the last inning. Is there anyway this legal, I don't think it is.
Thanks
Answer
Hi Tim,
If your are saying (and I'm just a little confused) that the pitcher was subbed for, reentered, subbed for again and that same pitcher again reentered to pitch, that would be illegal.
If the batter for the pitcher then went in and pitched that would be legal as they had this reentry left.

ps,,an outstanding umpire from New York wrote me, telling me I could have given a better answer and he was correct, something I overlooked.... The pitcher could have been the Flex player, of course if they were, they never bat and the DP bats for them. Re reading the OP this is a very probable situation.
