Question
I have a sophmore daughter who plays highschool softball. Just an average player.  Great defense player.  She is only 5'1". Hard worker on and off the field, honor roll student. She hasnt won any sport awards that I see other player receive.  She would like to play in college.  I know she is not Div l or ll material, but maybe Div lll.  Any insight would help to know if this is even worth pursuing.

Answer
I would look toward NCAA D3 or NAIA schools.  Grades are the first stat these coaches want to see.  There is no athletic money at NCAA D3 schools, it is all based on academics.  NAIA affiliated schools can give both athletic and academic money.  You should also look at the junior college programs.  Have her contact the coaches and start from there.

BTW I have one daughter playing at a NAIA affliated school and one that will be at  junior college next year.

If you want more information, send me another question.  That will allow me to send you my email address without putting it on the web.
