Illegal pitch

2016/7/15 16:35:57

Question
Can a photo be presented by a spectator as proof of an illegal pitch to an umpire who claims not to see the illegal extension above shoulder of pitchers arm on her back swing. Or is that a violation?

Answer
If the picture was coming from a coach or member of the team, then absolutely not.  There is nothing in the rules about interaction between a spectator and an official, but I would be very surprised if the umpire gave you the time of day.

If this is fastpitch, why do you think the extension above her shoulder on the backswing of the windup is illegal?
