fastpitch softball batting out of order.

Question
First inning.  B2 bats first, gets on first.  B1 bats second gets on first, B2 to second base.  B3 in box, no pitch made, defense informs of the batting out of order.

My ruling was: B2 became proper (legalized). Next batter should have been B3.  Since B1 batted and was discovered, B3 is out (because she did not bat in her turn). B1's time at bat negated and return to dugout. B2 returns to first base. Next batter should be B4.

On this play I relying on a case book play that states b3 errroneously bats for b1 and the infraction is not discovered before a pitch to the next batter.  Is b2 or b4 the next correct batter?  the answer is b4 since his name follows b3, neither b1 or b2 may legally bat until until their time comes around as listed.

In this case my opinion would be b3 is the next legal batter

So for review...after a incorrect batter has completed a turn at bat (B1)...and before a legal or illegal pitch to the next batter
1) the batter who should have batted is out....B3
2)any advance of runners in nullified. B2 returns to 1st and B1 has to be taken off the base (If B1 had hit a fly out, and B2 tagged and went to 2nd, B2 returns to 1st AND B1 is still out)
3) the next batter is the one who follows the batter called out for failing to bat....B4
