the bases are loaded they have a 7 run per inning rule so the batter is walked forcing in the 7th run the batter touches first the runner from third touches home the runners on first and second go to the dugout without touching the next base. i was told it was an appeal play that the girls would have had to go in the dugout and tag the girls i asked the question after the game these are 12 year old girls just wanted to know the correct rule thanks greg

Hi Greg,

You do not want a player to carry a ball out of play, you need not go into the dugout.

The runner is out when they abandon a base and enter the team area or leave live ball territory.

The easiest way is to simply throw the ball to the base they were forced to and make the appeal.
