USSSA pitching rules (slow pitch)

What are the dimensions for the pitcher? Does he have to have one foot in contact with the rubber when releasing the ball to home plate? How far can he move before the pitch, ex.(left to right, back and forth)? How far each way? Can he move in front of the rubber toward home and then back up?

Hello Peter,

The pitching plate dimensions are 24" x 6".  The pitching plate is located 50 feet from the back corner of home plate.  The "pitching area" is the area 6ft behind the pitching plate and is the same width as the pitching plate (24 inches).  

The pitcher must have his pivot foot in the pitching area before and during the release.  What this means is the pivot foot does not have to be in contact with the rubber, but if it is not, it has to be within the 6ft x 2ft area behind the rubber.  Once the ball is released, there are no restrictions on where the pitcher moves while the ball is in flight.  I hope this helps and let me know if you have any other questions.
