BATTING COACH - PRIVATE
Question
My daughter has been a pitcher for several years. When she was younger, she alternated between short-stop and pitching. Once she reached high school her opportunities to play other positions was eliminated and her focus was limited to pitching. Her batting time has been limited since her private coaching and training has focused on pitching and speed/agility. She is now a junior in high school and we are finding that without the batting skills and her opportunities to play other positions no longer an option, leaves her on the bench too often. We live in Houston and are having trouble finding a hitting coach that can bring her up to speed. Advice?
Answer
Hello Micki,
My advice would be to check ebay or amazon for some hitting videos. "Advanced Hitting Drills Softball Fastpitch Sue Enquist" is a good one to check out. She is the UCLA head coach and breaks down hitting with several drills that are very helpful. You and your daughter can watch these videos together then incorporate these drills into some practice sessions at the batting cages. You'd be surprised at how much this will help her hitting. Good luck and let me know how things go.
