12 baters

Last night in Adult Softball (ASA rules)I had team to bat 12 players.  This was not caught until the second inning after the team had batted around 3 times.  The team batting 12 was in the field at the time.  What is the ruling for batting 12 regarding this game?

HI JG,

Unless your local league allows this, many do, under ASA the 12th batter is an illegal player and when reported to the umpire would be disqualified.

If they are reported after their bat and before another pitch, if they reached base they would be out, any advance nullified and disqualified.
