Buckett rule

I do the little girls fast pitch and the girls coaches
sit on a bucket of balls with a padded lid just outside the dugout

Normally I let this go with the understanding that if a live ball hits the bucket I will enforce the worse infraction possible (This is an old football rule where  you enforce the wore possible infraction on the offending team) normally at the offended coaches choise

We would never allow that here in ASA tournament play but I understand it's fairly common in league play, especially in the south.

What you would have is a blocked ball..dead ball, all runners return to the last base touched at the time and if the blocked ball prevented the defense from making an out, the runner being played on would be called out.
