Rosin bags

QUESTION: I was recently coaching in an ASA National Tourney and had an interesting thing happen. The first thing was the field ump made my pitcher change her glove because the embroidered emblem was a yellow color(I guess I can understand that since the rule is in place for that) My question is the pitcher for the other team had a bright yellow rosin bag that she placed at the back of the circle and just to the right of her release point. My batters said they were having trouble picking up the ball right away out of her hand(We eventually was able to see it and beat them 7-0) but I could not find a rule specific to this one like their is for their glove or even the neoprene sleeve they pull up that shows a softball on it.

QUESTION: Is their a specific rule on the color of the rosin bag or what basis would have I had to talk with the ump about?

Hi Matt,

no there is no rule on colors....yet, and I have no info if they're even considering it.

Sec 10 gives the PU the authority to make decisions on any situations not specifically covered by the rules.

IMO ask the PU for time, tell him/her of your concerns and ask that it be moved out of the plane of her delivery or release.

Either they will or they won't. Remember the umpire's primary responsibility is to have a level playing field for both teams. If I thought it was a problem they're going to move it.
