Advancing to 2nd after a walk
Question
Can you explain the rule of a runner advancing to 2nd base after a walk. Say third base is occupied and the batter walks and goes to second and does mot stopp . What can be done to not allow her to advance. If pitcher has ball in circle, can she still advance?
Thank you

Answer
There is no rule that requires a runner to stop at a base when the ball is in the circle. The only thing the ball is the circle does is force the runner to choose a base if they stop in the base path while the ball is in the circle. This choice must be done immediatly.
Jon, I just do rules and scoring. The next two questions of yours are coaching questions and I must defer to someone else.
