in field fly
Question
QUESTION: we had a game today and had runners at 1st and 2nd ball was a looper over the pitchers reach and chest high on ss when he had it directly in catching range and he didnt try to catch it he just held the back of his glove up to knock it down so we had to run should this have been called an infield fly? everybody was on their base it wasnt an E it was purpously smacked to the gound to make a double play... our umpire just looked around like he was lost and never signaled anything, and they touched the bases and ran off the field and he more or less went along with it, and wouldnt listen to any arguement. did we have one?

QUESTION: i fogot to ask about the ball on a walk. we had a runner on 1st and 2nd and i was up to bat, and i walked.. as i was walking to 1st the catcher threw it over the pitchers head and into center field, so the 2 runners ahead of me moved up and one scored, the fielders said you couldnt do that so the ump made them go back. said it was a dead ball since i walked and there was no stealing in slowpitch, but is the ball live since i wasnt on base yet and the pitcher didnt have it? normally when ball is dead ump calls time, but they have been doing that as the ball is in the air from a fielder to the pitcher no matter if runners are on the base or in between i guess im confused on that too, same ump that blew the last call. would listen to the arguement on it either
Also where can i get a complete list of ASA Banned Slowpitch Bats? one guy hit 2 homeruns off the handle just above the grip and he has now power
Answer
Mitchell, I don't do slow pitch. I would bet that the runners being returned to their bases is correct. Please don't ding me on knowledge here. Your question is outside my area.
Check out http://www.asasoftball.com/about/certified_equipment.asp
for the banned bat list.
