U12 Softball Catcher

My daughter is the catcher for her u12 softball team and in our tournament game she got about 10 outs at home but they called 3 or 4 of them safe because they said she was to rough. All the girls on the other team was twice her size and she is the one who came home all cut up. Can they call someone safe if they think the catcher is to rough?

Hi Amy,

never heard of a safe call because of a too rough rule.  If she had the ball she can block the base and the runner must not remain upright and not collide w/ her.  If she didn't have the ball she cannot block the base w/out an obstruction call being made.
