ASA slow pitch strike zone
Question
What is the rule book definition of the strike zone?
is it called a ball/strike based on where the ball lands or is it from the shoulder to the knee?
Does the height of the batter make a difference with the strike zone?
thanks,
Answer
Hi pete,
STRIKE ZONE: That space over any part of home plate, when a batter assumes a
natural batting stance adjacent to home plate, between the batter抯,
B. (Slow Pitch) Back shoulder and the front knee.
It is never where it lands other than hitting the plate, it is that area from the back shoulder and front knee.
Sure a taller batter has a larger strike zone than does a short player.
