Substitutions

I hope I am not confusing you with this question.
At the begining of a game Jenna is listed as our first base player, Sam is listed as our pitcher and Mailee is listed as a sub. In the 3rd inning Mailee subed in for Jenna. Later in the same inning we want to re-enter Jenna into the game, but as pitcher. So, Mailee comes out of the game, Jenna goes to the pitching circle and Sam goes from the pitching circle to first base. Is this leagal and correct? How does this effect any further substitutions with these players?

Hi John,

we only care where the player bats not where they play defense.  As long as the starter and the sub stay in the same batting position that's all we care about.

Hi John,

Ok you seem not to like my "clarity" and maybe I could have done a little better.  Let's say "Jenna" is B1 and "Sam" is B2.  Jenna is F3 and Sam is F1.  You put "Mailee" in for Jenna and F3s' position (if you want) and she bats at B1 Jennas' batting position.  Now you re-enter Jenna for Mailee, and Jenna MUST reenter at B1, her original batting position.  You can put Jenna at F1 or F8 or wherever and move Sam or any other player defensively wherever you want.  Sam is never any consideration in your moves between Jenna and Mailee and no report is needed to the PU on defensive positioning.  If you again sub for Jenna she is now out of the game, Maille or any other sub can enter or reenter at B1.  So you see  bp is considered, never defensive positions.
