Youth softball contract NSA

I understand that you may not know the answer to this, but I've been totally unable to find it anywhere else.
My daughter plays NSA 16u fastpitch. She played A level last year. 燱e missed the regular tryout times due to family commitments. She had a private tryout for a team. Coach said team was B level, but could and would competently compete in A level tournaments. Before first practice, had us sign paper stating we would not play for any other team for one year. Turns out team is playing B level tournaments and failing miserably. Should be a C level team. Is the paper binding? We feel as if they breached this agreement by misleading us to the status of the team. These are nice people and nice girls, but the girls cannot even preform the simplest of drills without getting confused. We've already paid our money, but would like to be able to sub or switch to another team. If you do not know the answer, would you know where I should look? Thank you so much  for your time!

You have a tough question and I am not a lawyer nor do I have what you signed.  So I will attempt the common sense approach.  First go to www.playnsa.com and look up your state director and find out if the team has even registered with NSA.  Next find out what their rules are on player movement.

If you can't get a release from the team, find a team playing ASA, USSSA, NAFA or something else.  I would bet that what you signed could prevent you from getting your money back but if your daughter is really unhappy it may be worth it.
