Question
Hi there!

I have no idea if you can answer my question but I thought it was worth a try.  I have been playing club rugby in Toronto for the last five years and am heading over to Ireland for the summer (May-September) for fun.  Well, anyways I have been lookng aimlessly for a Irish women s rugby site to give me details on when their season starts and on how to contact teams in the Cork area. If you know of any sites where I can get this info I'd really appreciate it loads.  Thanks a lot!

Answer
Amanda,

The timing is not exactly perfect - women's rugby in Ireland runs from late September through to May. Cork Constitutional has a women's team, though I don't know very much about them. I would guess they would be training during August and September. Cork last year hosted an all Ireland tournament in October too.

Contact details for Cork Constitutional are:
http://www.irfu.ie/comp/team_desc.asp?id=191

The club has a website though I can't trace any mention of the women's team:
http://www.corkcon.ie/
This is not too surprising in that few Irish rugby clubs have developed internet resources to the extent of North America.

To get a list of women's clubs in Ireland, there is a list on:

Good luck and enjoy your time in Ireland.

Yours in rugby
Chris
