Question
I have been playing rugby for 5 months i am age 27 10 half stone and 6ft 1 in am i too underweight for rugby?

Answer
Hi Darren,

That is a very subjective question. What position are you? If you are an outside back you could be fine. If you are going for lock or #8 you are probably too light but then what kind of team are you in. In New Zealand there are weight restricted leagues: "Under 85kg" (the biggest participated in league in the country and even "under 77kg" you would be considered perfect for that league.

At 10 stone / 140lbs and 6'1" you are not exactly a bruiser but I have seen guys your size succeed in rugby.

If you are playing for the fun and comradeship then who cares as long as you enjoy running on the field.

Thanks for the question.
