USA Divisions and Leagues distinctions

2016/7/16 9:56:02

Question
How do the divisions work in USA Rugby? For example, if Belmont Shore
shows they field: MGC,MD1,MGCB,MD1B teams. That means they field a
Superleague A & B AND a Div 1 A & B right? If you play them do the same
players that play in Superleague play in the D1 team? Obviously this question
applies to D1 teams who also field a D2 or lower teams also. Is the
Superleague B team the same as the D1 team?

How does a team become a certain level team?

Answer
Hi Kevin, not something I really have paid a lot of attention to sorry. I think your basic points are correct but check with USA Rugby they have a great website it should explain it. Basically a Club is D1, 2 or 3 based on the yearly results of the competitions. Also some clubs choose the lower level. The OC Bucks choose the D3 comp as it better meets their goal of good fun social rugby. They still mix it up pretty well though.
