Flankers

Question
Do the openside and blindside flankers switch sides in the scrum depending on which part of the playing field the scrum is set in, ie: does the blindside always bind on the blind side?

Answer
There is no law for this but typically you are correct. At the more advanced levels of rugby the blind side and open side players tend to have slightly different skills and speed.

It is o to play "left and right" so that for a part of the game each player has a go at open side or blind but it is common practice to set the positions.
