Question
Im 14 turning 15 playing in my local u16's side for league and this is my first year and ive come from 6 years of AFL.
and Ive played wing and fullback lately, and in fullback ive made a few vital mistakes and i just wanna know how i can imrpove my game in both positions?

Answer
The biggest thing I suggest to people is just keep the basics steady. Be ready to take a pass at any time. Make your passes easy and catchable for your team mates. Play a heads up game. Mark your opposite man verbally call him out. Let your team mates know where you are in support. Talk to your team mates keep the communication going.

Take your time and look for options, look around for the holes in the line. Most of all relax and have fun. If you are serious and tense worrying about the game or the last mistake you made you will only go back wards.

If you make a mistake shake it off and look to make it up in the next play don't be hard on yourself.

Run hard on attack and look to run off your team mate's shoulder. Run hard into the opposition and stand in the tackle look to make a pass to a team mate. Run into holes / space not players.

On defense mark your man. If you are marking the line look after the side line and mark the player closest to the side line, it is your team mates job to mark the inside man, remember this when you are the inside man - communicate to your team mate to "push out" give him confidence you have his inside.
