List of all UK rugby clubs

I'm trying to compile a list of ALL UK rugby teams, mens only, and I mean all.
I've looked at most of the sites which have been quite helpfull, but the contacts and numbers seem to be out of date, does anyone know if there is a difinitive list I can access that is more up to date.Cheers

You will not find a full list on the web.

You will find some - for example the Northern Irish clubs can be comprehensively found via the Irish RFU's site. But the big one, England, relies on amateur self development as far as the Internet is concerned.

You will find a full list of affiliated clubs in the RFU handbook, and more contact details in the RFU Club Directory, which costs about UK?8. Both of which are printed publications, available from the RFU (including their website).

The other Home Unions have similar publications.

There are some clubs which are not affiliated to the RFU, but are affiliated to other constituent bodies. I don't know of any easy way to find them all out. These are typically only occasional teams - work teams which may only play a few times a year, prison teams etc. Any club more than 3 years old or so will be either a member or affiliated to the RFU, if only to get access to Twickenham tickets.

The English RFU has pondered the possibility of putting the club directory on the web, and I sat in on a meeting with a plan to do that about 2 years ago, but it hasn't happened. There are some privacy issues unique to the web - postal addresses of clubs are often a secretary's residence, not all of them relish junk mail, and the Data Protection Act thereby imposes complications.
