Answer
Hi Steffan,

May I suggest "Rugby for Dummies" which you can get on Amazon.com it is a great start to learn rugby.

Also these links will help:

Also try to view as much rugby as you can on tv or at your local team. Focus on the hooker to learn your position.

I am not really sure of your question but I think you mean where do you stand at kick offs. Depending on your team, most of the time you stand between your props. Occasionally you might stand center field of your props if you are much faster than the other props. This lets them get a straighter run at the catcher in the opposition. When your team is making the kick off come forward to the line so you have as little distance to run as possable mark the other hooker. On defence stand in scrum position unless told otherwise by your coach. Between the props about 2 metres back from the line. Always look around you. No mater what the situation if you see a huge "hole" fill it.

As for ruck overs ALWAYS enter a ruck or maul from DIRECTLY behind. They call it "comming through the gate". To acheive this you will want to start runing "loops". What this is: from a scrum/ line out or ruck/maul you will run in a loop or arc towards the next phase of play. This does two things: it allows you to run onto the ball at speed if you come in to suport the ball carrier and it allows you to run into a ruck or maul from directly behind.

If you run in straight lines directly at the ball you put yourself in a poor angle to hit rucks and to be of any use to a team mate who wants to pass to you.

Let me know if have any more questions, have fun.
