tackling in rugby

Question
i'm 6ft 2", 12 stone and I play No 8 or 2nd Row and basically I want to improve my tackling, I've always got the problem of going too high but I'm not sure what technique would be best. Any help?

Answer
I think you need to ask the question "Why am I going high in a tackle" I'm 6ft5 and I played 8 at different stages of my playing career. I had to watch the other player and adapt my body accordingly. Look at the running persons body position and go lower then his waist. Aim your shoulder towards his thighs if you can and drive with your legs.
The lower you go the easier it is to take some one down. If you have to go high, use his forward momentum and pull him towards you dragging him to the ground or use your upper body and try wrap him up and use your weight to take him to the ground.

Hope that helps
