Blindside flanker
Question
Ok, so im a blindside flanker and i have to disrupt opposition play and support my guys when we have the ball?
And whats all this with communicating with the no.8, scrumhalf and flyhalf?
Answer
Hi Oliver,
Communication is critical in any position. The #8, Flankers and #9 are a sub team in themselves on attack and defence. You need to communicate which attacker you are going to takle which direction you are running to tak a pass, plan on field strategy during a game to combate an opposition strength or exploit a weakness.
Watch a professional game on tv closely and you will hear the constant communication that goes on. Winning teams communicate to each other field position, direction of play/mauls/rucks etc.
