hello i would firstly like to thank you for anwsering my questions before it helped me out alot. well my title dosen't really make sense and i am not sure if this question dose really but here we go. well i am 16 and play at club level in england as a hooker but i can play anywere in the forwards. basicly in two matches this season i have picked up injuries that prevented from carrying on in the scrum or i would get a serious injury. well basicly i then have to play in the backs i have so far played as a centure and a winger. but what i would like to know is is their anyway i could better perpear myself for back work if i get a knock again? i would loke to thank you in advance

G'day Dan,

I hesitate hear to give advice to be honest.

If an injury keeps you out of the forwards it will probably mean the same in the backs. While I hate to admit it the back do actually have work to do and take plenty of abuse - from opposition forwards.

I also did not get an idea of the exact nature of your injury. If it is a head (concussion) or neck / back issue then stay off the field. If you are talking about a little muscle niggle then I might get you point.

I suggest getting your injury fixed first then go back to hooker. If you have to miss a gam or two to let the injury heal then so be it.

If you must move to the backs and have not played there before then I would suggest taking time each practice to work in with the backs and learn their moves, calls and plays.

Obviously to learn a back position you would need a lot of coaching and practice and game time - it can't be learned over night.
