Answer
Hi, Ferdie
Right first of all you need to make sure he nearly always has a rugby ball in his hands, so that he can get the fell of the ball.
Here a few drills for short passing,
Get some people together all ready to pass in the same direction, with the correct forward and there elbow up creating the channel, then pass the ball down the line and back, this can be done in two's also make sure its done to perfection and then when it gets better move further apart.
Spin passing- gets to the player quicker
The hand position fro spin passing or long passing is not massively different from the hand position in a small pass, but it shifts slightly. For a pass out to the right drop the left hand further down, towards the base of the ball and the lower end point and keep the right hand further up. In the pass itself the left hand does all the work and the right hand is the guide.
A good drill is just passing between you and your child
