number 8 training
Question
hi my name is Stefan, I'm interested in playing as number 8. I'm also going into
opens next year and hoping to make 1st 15. however i need help in training in
terms of weights. i do weights training at the moment but i don't know how to
balance it with power training as well. can you give me an idea as to how much
of a balance you need between power and strength?
Answer
Hi Stefan, I try to be clear in my bio that I do not give fitness advice. I tell people to work with a proper trainer at a gym or to join an athletics club over the summer and focus on training for the 100, 200 and 400 meter races, hurdles too are goo for training for rugby.
Each person is unique an requires an initial assessment of their current capabilities and then to set goals and time periods for those goals. The training is then devised from that base. A good trainer or fitness coach can easily help you with those things but I suggest working with one in person.
