Where to play??

My son has been playing AAA for the past 2 years in a city near where we live.  Next season he will be playing Minor PeeWee.  This is our dilemma ...... Our town in which we live in has joined with another town and now is an A centre.  SOme of his friends that played AAA are going back to play in our town.  The AAA coach says our sons belongs in AAA and should continue playing AAA. Should our son go back to play with his friends or should he still play AAA?
Please help......

Hello Julie!  Great question and your son is very fortunate that you care enough to reach out and think through what is best for him and the family.

The answer boils down to what is that your son and you as a family really want to get out of this experience, this time in your lives.   Is it to play at the highest level possible in hopes of getting a hockey scholarship or maybe even a pro contract?  Or is it to be challenged and yet have fun.  Or is it purely for fun.

Once you know what your goal is - it may be alot easier to see what your best choice is!  If you are together on the choice - it's open and shut case.  If there are differences, then you may have to discuss and determine what is the source of these.   Through that process - you should be able to find common ground and then a clearer answer should come out.

For starters - I say - try this...  if you come to a crossroad and are not sure which way to turn - you can follow up and I can maybe share some of my personal experiences with my son...  (Who is now playing CLUB HOCKEY at ISU and enjoying every minute of it!)
