I have been around football most of my 25 year's of life.I played some in jr high,but none in high school due to switching school's alot.I then went into the Army right after graduating.I am now out of the Army,and am planning on going to school this comming fall to attempt to become a high school football coach.I have talked to the head coach at my local high school(who has a phenominal record,with two state title's in 8 year's)and he has agreed to allow me to be a vollunteer coach this season and learn some from him.What I am wondering is if you can suggest any instructional book's or video's in which I can brush up on football with and learn some good knowledge over the summer before two-a-day's start?

welcome to the club, you are going to love it. There is nothing like coaching football. Here are some words of wisdon;

"if you have to cut corners to win a game, it is only because you are too lazy to get off your big rear end! and learn the skills you need to win the game"

Anyway, you did not say what position you are going to coach. Here is a book that will help you on your quest  

"Play Football The NFL Way: Position-by-Position Techniques and Drills for Offense, Defense, and Special Teams"

Thanks for the quick reply.I will take the word's of wisdom to heart!I am hoping to coach defense and special team's,but am also willing to learn offense as well incase I get the chance down the road to become a head coach.I will look into that book.

you are going to need this book even if you do not want to become a head coach. This book teaches you what you need to know position by position.

"Play Football The NFL Way: Position-by-Position Techniques and Drills for Offense, Defense, and Special Teams"

If you want to coach football get ready to spend some money that is what all coaches do.
