Getting noticed at the High school level
Question
Hello Coach I just wanted to ask you a couple of questions first off I was wondering how to get looked at by college scouts because I want to play football in college but I play for a Div, 3AA school... people say that I have enough talent to play any sport but my football coach says that I will never get noticed so I shouldn't bother?? doesn't really make to much sense and I was wondering if you could help me. and my second questions is well that at my school I have had to play OT and DT because its such a small school and there wasn't enough people with size to play those positions I am 6'2" 225 and I have a good arm and I am quick at a 5.01 40 time even though I still need to work on it, I can stand tall in the pocket and I can get the receiver the ball and the reason I know this is because I did go and play for a Div 1A school at the beginning of this past year before I went back to my old school I just want to chance to play QB for my school I am sophomore and so is the starting varsity QB( I have seen allot better)and I am not saying that I am better I just want to know how to ask my coach to give me a chance and I would really like your help thank.

Answer
Dear Josh Develis,
If I were you I would go out for tight end and back-up quarterback. If anything should happen to the starting quarterback you would have your chance to prove yourself. Mean while, you can improve your skills and chalk up some points with the head football coach. And as a tight end, you would still be a starter just incase the quarterback position does not work out for you.
Your friend, Coach Louis
PS Do not worry about the college scouts. If your grades are any good and you have some talent they will find you.
