glasses
Question
is it true that there are visors that help quarterbacks see if they need glasses?
Answer
Jordan,
First, Visors are not legal equipment except if there is a doctor's prescription for such a devise and they are tint free - no matter how slight the tint, in High School & college football. When you say "that helps QBs see". What do you mean?
A few years ago some visors were introduced with a yellow and amber tint, similar to shooting goggles that made objects "stand out". There were also dark visors to act as dark glasses. These types of visors are not permitted. In fact any visor that has any type of tint to it is illegal equipment. This is at the request of the sports trainers association as it is a safety issue - tinting makes it too difficult to read pupils [whether they are reactive to light, etc.].
There are eyeglasses that can be worn and goggles too. Clear prescription visors are permitted but with a doctors notification and only if it has not tinting.
