do i have to play for college in order to try out for the nfl one day?
Question
my question is regarding the rules of trying out for NFL.
i wasn't fortunate enough to play for college football. I'm attending a community college near my house. and will graduate next year. yet i still practice and workout on the regular basis to improve and perfect my ability as a kicker.
I'm 23 years old. my question is: can i try out for the NFL one day if i see my self able and strong enough to be a kicker or try to apply for a NCAA college and try out for their team first? knowing that by the time i finish my master i would be 26-27 years old.
or should i work out more, attend kicking camps and higher a coach or an agent to help me out?
thanks in advance for your help.
Answer
No you are able to try out given your age and number of semesters since graduating from High School. You can also try out for a college team but if you are interested in playing college football make sure you pursue that first so you do not lose your amateur status. Attending kicking camps and clinics is always helpful, expensive but helpful - so is hiring a coach.
