Being a QB
Question
My question is that I was a QB for my middle school team, and my team wasn't that good. Now I am moving up to high school should I go out for QB even though I was good ,but not my team, and we did not have a good record; and the same players that my team face and we lost too are also on they don't see me as leader and a player that can help them win.
Answer
Dear Brian:
Your new coach is not going to care what you did in the past. All he cares about is how can you help your team today. If he thinks you are the best man for the job he will let you know it. And if he thinks you are not the best man for the job he will let you know that too.
Brian let me tell you a short story. This summer I started football practice with 4-guys that wanted to be quarterbacks. And two other guys that wanted to be receivers and or running backs. Can you guess what I am going to tell you next? I bet you can. None of my quarterbacks made the final cut. And the two other guys are now going to share playing time as my new quarterbacks. You never know what life has in stored for you until you live it.
Just because you had one bad season does not make you a loser or a poor leader. You will be surprised how quickly people think of you as a good leader once you start winning games again. Never forget, you win and lose games as a team. You did not win any games and you did not lose any games the team did.
Please let me know if you need anymore support. I will be more than happy to help you in anyway I can.
Your friend, Coach Louis
