QB position
Question
Are there any drills that you can do to prepare yourself mentally for the QB position and also any easily understandable drills you can give me for a QB....other than the weight room to strengthen my arm and other facits of my game? Thanks.
Answer
Hello Adam and thank you for asking this question.
The first thing you need to do is decide SPECIFICALLY what you want. What does being a successful QB mean to you? Make a list for YOU, because this is different for everyone. Prioritize the list - examples might include: football skills, speed, agility, strength, leadership, confidence, focus or motivation. I know, it's not a simple answer. But this is the path towards being a great QB.
It could be really helpful to talk about this with your coach. Coaches really like motivated players, and will help you if they know you are serious. Research other QBs, what do THEY do?
Once you are more focused on what you want, make a PLAN to get it. All of the great players do this, it really helps them stay on track and improve and it can help you too. Look at some of my other answers on this forum, they can help you with suggestions for focus, motivation, confidence and more. If you don't see anything that helps, let me know and I can give you some ideas.
For physical drills, please ask the other experts on this forum, they can help you in that area more than I can.
Good luck and let me know how it goes.
