i want to be an offensive lineman

I am a freshman in high school. I am a little over 6 ft tall and weigh about 225 lbs. I want to know how to get in shape as an offensive lineman and how to play the position generally.

  Brain, it sounds like you have great size to play O-line, which is good.  The first piece of advise is to go talk to the coach and tell him, that your interested in playing football.  Probably you will be having summer work outs, that you should attend.  You need to become strong, by lifting at least 3 times a week.  Working on the basic muscle groups legs, chest and back.  Do leg press, squats and bench press.  Also a good line man needs quick feet so jumping rope is a awesome way to get quick feet and get you in shape.  
    In terms of tips on playing the position.  You first need to learn how to have a great stance.  A stance that is explosive, being quick off the ball.  Hit your defender low and hard, driving threw him with your legs, chopping your feet with small quick steps.  Your hands should be into his chest and pushing his chest upward.  This allows you to get better leverage, which is the key to moving someone out of the way for your running back.    Good Luck COACH NOEL!!
