Devolping better hands
Question
Hey coach. I'm Ryley, i am in the ninth grade and my coaches moved me up to the varsity team but changed my postilion from out side linebacker to tight end. Sense then I have had problems with catching the ball as well as i would like. Are there any drill to help me devolp better hands in the offseason that i can do by my self?
Thank for the help, Ryley.
Answer
Ryley you simple just need to catch more passes. Get you and friend and play catch. Practice catching by running routes that you would run in a real game. Practice every day until the season gets here. Practice throwing soft fade routes and catching the ball with only one hand. This will develop soft hands and teach you to concentrate and focus on the ball. Also use the diamond technique when catching the ball. This means putting your index figures together and your two thumbs together making a diamond window. This teaches you proper use of how to receive a football. GOOD LUCK COACH NOEL
