Quarterbacking
Question
QUESTION: I'm a 15 year old sophomore quarterback and I need some advice. How do I become the best quarterback I can be and also how do I build throwing power and accuracy. Thank you for any advice possible.
ANSWER: Robert you need to study under your offensive coach, as much as possible. Ask lots of questions daily about each pass play. Learn how to read the defensive coverages. The best way to build arm strength is by lifting weights. Your arm will gradually become stronger and improve your zip on your passes. Accuracy will be improved by just practicing throwing balls and working on your footwork. GOOD LUCK COACH NOEL!!

QUESTION: The advice before was perfect and was exactly what I needed. But unfortunly I have one more problem. When I release the ball for a deep route the ball seems to go high and not as far as i would like. How do I change this. And one more thing is there any health and unhealth food tips I should be aware of as I go into football training camp.
Answer
On deep passes it is very important to not float the ball high. This is when balls get pick off by safeties. You need to step into your throws and follow through outward, not upward. Your arm goes forward and down, not up! This will project the ball down the field more, instead of up. On long passes never under throw the ball. As far as eating, habits stay away from fast foods. Try to up your levels or proteins and carbohydrates during the season. This gives the body the best source of energy and will help keep your strength level up. GOOD LUCK COACH NOEL!
