My Arm

Question
okay my problem is that I know for a fact that from pass expriences I can throw the deep balls, the slants, the hitches, and the post routes with extreme accuracy. But as I battle for the starting spot on my high school football team, its like when we line up for 7 on 7's or 11 on 11's and I'm preparing for a throw I lose all confidence in my arm and begin to either run or look for an easy short throw. What makes it so bad is that the guy I'm battling with for the starting spot was there last year and i wasn't because of family issues.from being there last year the guy has all the experience but from seeing him and hearing about him play I know I'm capable of taking the starting spot. So basically what I'm saying is that with a little advice, motivation and practice I'll be the starting qb this year. PLEASE HELP

Answer
Robert I would suggest asking your coaches as many questions as you can.  Try to understand what they believe to be your weaknesses are.  If you now in your head that you are scrambling to much force your self to stay in there and throw to the intended receiver.  If you do this enough times in a row then you will eventually get more comfortable.  This will take some time, but you must stay with it.  That is if you want to start.  Focus, I know it's the opposite of what your mind is telling you to do, but you must stay in the pocket.  GOOD LUCK COACH NOEL!
