kicking field goals
Question
Im 17 and just started kicking field goals for fun with my friends and after a couple attempts i can hit anything under 40 yards. Because of this i thought maybe i would have a chance to kick in college since im planning on attending a small school. What general tips would you give for someone on just how to kick properly and be able to hit field goals of 40+ yards
Answer
Well im not a kicking coach, but I can give you some simple tips, to help you practice. You need to practice kicking everyday, this will strengthen your leg over time. Second you need to practice with a holder, this will help to simulate the snap. Next hitting the weight room and doing leg press, squats and leg lifts will help to make your legs stronger. Be sure to get each kick off within 1 to 1.5 seconds. GOOD LUCK Coach Noel! Sorry I could be more helpful.
