Widreciver or Quarterback?

Question
QUESTION: I am a freshman in high school and want to play football next year but i decided to skip this year to gain weight and get faster but anyway I'm 5'11" 135lbs i have "gorilla" hands and have a hefty vertical for my age and i can sling a football with ok accuracy and really good speed but i really need help to chooses which one.

ANSWER:     I would suggest going out for receiver next year.  Since you choice to skip a year of football, most coaches will already be looking at someone else for QB.  By skipping this season I doubt that any coach will consider you for qb.  So get into great shape, and lift lots of weights, and play receiver next season.  GOOD LUCK COACH NOEL.

QUESTION: Thank you for your opinion i was wondering how much weigh should i lift, when should i lift it, and what muscle group should i work on? and about how fast should i run a 40  and high should i be able to jump? to be a better wid reciver?

Answer
I would suggest working on three core muscles, the chest, legs and back.  Do squats, leg press and bench press.  If you can bench around 175 to 200, that would be a good goal.  You should be able to squat around 275 to 300 pounds by next season.  You should be lifting weights 3 times a week.
The best way to work on your 40 time is to run wind sprints after your work out.  Running track would be the best idea.  Sprints will help you shave time off your 40.  A good time is anything under a 4.9.  Good luck coach Noel!
